Course Introduction

Beginner level 1

This course is a short term training designed for students who have no or little background of learning Korean. This course consists of 2 parts. In the 1st part, for about 1/3 of the total class hours, this course will introduce Korean alphabets ‘Hangeul’ focusing on the phonetic value of each letter and characteristics of syllable structure. In the 2nd part, this course will focus on providing students with a foundation for acquiring their basic Korean language skills using grammar and vocabulary. Also, students will learn to improve their communication skills with familiar topics in daily life such as greetings, self-introduction, and daily activities etc. Students are also expected to raise their understanding of Korean culture through their language experience in class.

This class will be online and offline. At the beginning of the class, we will decide together how many offline classes will be held or you will attend. Students learn basic grammar and vocabulary through the class. Students can practice speaking, listening and reading activities with classmates and teacher. Writing practice will be given for home work. Self-study is required for 2-3hours a week.


Beginner level 2 (There are currently no classes open)

This course is a short term training designed for students who have completed beginner 1 (A1) level in Korean or students who are equivalent to this level. In this class, students will learn the various conjunctive endings, markers, expressions, and vocabularies which are used in daily life. Students are also expected to raise their understanding of Korean culture through their language experience in class. This class will be online and offline. At the beginning of the class, we decide together how many offline classes will be held or you will attend. Students learn basic grammar and vocabulary through the class. Students can practice speaking, listening and reading activities with classmates and teacher. Writing practice will be given for home work. Self-study is required for 2-3hours a week.


Beginner level 3

This course is a short-term training designed for students who have completed beginner 2
level in Korean or students who are equivalent to this level.
This course is useful for learners who want to improve their communication skills on
personal topics frequently encountered in their daily life, in public spaces, and in social
situations after learning basic Korean.
Students are also expected to raise their understanding of Korean culture through their
language experience in class.
